“To love is nothing. To be loved is something. But to love and be loved, that’s everything.” – T. Tolis
Yesterday was a day filled with love and joy as my daughter married her best friend. The ceremony was simple and intimate, held in the park beside the local courthouse. It was just the two of them, a few family members, and a cloudless sky. The weather was cool and crisp, adding to the perfection of the day. After the ceremony, we enjoyed a small celebratory lunch together. Everything was perfect.
As I watched them exchange vows, I was filled with an immense sense of pride and gratitude. My daughter has grown into an incredible young woman, and in that moment, I thought of everyone who has played a role in her life’s journey—friends, family, and mentors. But beyond those familiar faces, I also thought of her teachers.
From her earliest days in elementary school through her college years, so many teachers have left their mark on her life. They have been more than just educators; they’ve been sources of support, encouragement, and inspiration. Teachers shape minds, but more importantly, they shape hearts and character. Their influence goes beyond the classroom walls, often leaving a lasting impression that students carry with them for the rest of their lives.
So, while my daughter’s wedding day was about celebrating her and her new husband’s commitment to each other, it was also a moment to appreciate all the people who helped her become the woman she is today. To the teachers who guided, challenged, and believed in her—thank you. Your impact is immeasurable.
In the coming weeks, we’ll host a larger wedding reception where we’ll invite everyone to celebrate her marriage. But for now, I want to take a moment to honor the unsung heroes: the educators who shape our children’s futures and help them become the best versions of themselves.
Thank you for everything you do.
